I live in the region.... It seems this year has some overreaction. Every year we have the "fire season". In a matter of a month later there's already some sort "green grass carpet" where the fire had spread...

Oh boy, here we go again: 1. Yes they do, I have seen reports from the BBC, The Independent, CNN, RT, everywhere. 2. Forest fires have been part of nature before the days of prescribed burns, careless humans or arsonists. They can improve the soils in the forest, which in turn helps plant life. Some types of plants need the heat of fire to germinate. Recovery from large wildfires may require some help. The forests will, in time, heal themselves. Now I agree, this one is huge, that's why media is covering it, but otherwise it would be a normal natural phenomenon. 3. Yes, humans can help with the recovery by use of silt fences, slash and mulches to prevent erosion and sedimentation, and re-seeding or replanting the area in order to get vegetation established. This, however, doesn't require an extreme amount of money and most gouverments have a budget allocated for it.

It will be reborn... and to be fair, yes a lot of media coverage over the notre dame fire but at the end of the day a lot of bigshots that said they would donate, didnt... 15% of the billions that were promised were actually donated, most from the French government... so thats what you want likes, prayers and wishes on the internet? Cause thats what Notre Dame received...

Think about this: if the rainforest burns down "by accident", that means there'll be more room for your soy beans and avocados, and to keep the government satisfied they get a huge cut of the profits. Not a single person gives a crap until we run out of air to breathe. Even people who say they care either DON'T or CAN'T do anything about it..

To be fair, people have been going on about catastrophic climate change for decades now. That this new symptom has arisen (it's not just the Amazon that's on fire) isn't exactly news, add it to the list and see if this is the one that will make people take notice.
